TRIP REPORT of my Journey Experience on Howrah - Kalka Mail via Dhanbad - Gaya :-
-------------
My Parents and I have enjoyed this train journey very much . We had entered into Howrah Station on 3rd October , 2011 by reaching at HWH by around 6:00 PM . The station parking has become very decongested since Platform Car Tickets have become very expensive : Rs.150 . We went to Platform No : 9 for boarding our train . At around 7:10 PM our train entered into Pl : 9 that too with...
more... a WAP - 7 Loco . We stepped into our 2nd AC Coach and our train had departed from HWH at 7:40 PM Sharp . Our train picked up speed while crossing Tikiapara Coach Depot . It crossed Howrah Loco Shed at good speed and the shed consisted of various Electric Locos like WAP - 5 , WAP - 7 , Red Coloured WAP - 4 and Rajdhani Liveried WAM - 4 . After crossing Liluah , our train notched up from around 50 Kmph to 110 Kmph and the speed was ... WoW !!! It passed important EMU Stops like Hajigarh and Baruipara at fantastic speed . We had dinner at 8:20 PM , which was Home Cooked by my Mother and it consisted of Puri - Alu and Salad was also there . We had slept by 10 PM .
------------------------
Our train reached at Burdwan Jn bang on time , at around 8:30 PM . After a 5 Min Stoppage , our train left for Durgapur Stn which was it's next Stoppage . Our lights were off by 10 PM and I woke up at 5:45 AM Next Morning . We were served with Veg by around 8:00 AM . In Veg Breakfast there was Cutlet , Bread n Butter with Jam and French Fries n Peas . Our train had reached Mughalsarai Jn by around 6:45 AM :)
In Lunch we were served with Dal , Rice , Chana - Paneer , Roti , Salad , Pickle & Packed Water Glass . In After - Noon Time we were served with Alu Pakoras n Tomato Ketchup . The Best MPS Performance by our train was between MGS & ALD which must be around 115 - 118 Kmph [I felt 120 Kmph at times] :)
------------------------
Our train crossed many WAG - 9 Hauled Freight Trains along the Dhanbad - Mughalsarai - Allahabad - Kanpur Route . Our train stopped at Chunar Jn & Manda Road Stations after Mirzapur Jn . At MZP , our train was standing at a platform which was under canopies :)) . There were lots of Shakti and Prabal Diesel Locos doing Freight & Passenger Train duties all along the journey & for a second I felt as if I am traveling via the Unelectrified Lucknow - Bareilly Route . Due to various slowdowns after MGS and unscheduled halts at Naini Jn , Cheoki Jn & ALD Outer Signal , our train was late by 1 Hour . Inspite of that , our train made up most of it's lost time and reached Delhi 10 Mins Late only . In totality , it was a Fantabulous Experience :)
Thanks a lot for giving a Patient Reading to my Trip Report :))
